Quixote Center staff are participating in the "World Peoples Conference on Climate Change and the Rights of Mother Earth" in Cochabamba Bolivia this week. The Conference is a response to the derailment of climate change negotiations by the industrialized countries in Copenhagen in December, 2009, placing the future of our planet at risk.
Over 20,000 people from 5 continents have gathered for the Conference with the goal of defining negotiation positions informed and backed by the people’s of the world in advance of the next round of negotiations to take place in Cancun, Mexico in November 2010. The Quixote Center helped to facilitate participation of indigenous representatives from north america in the Conference. We will be posting updates from the conference.
