Sign the Open Letter to Condoleezza Rice: No US funding for violence in Bolivia!

Bolivia has been rocked by a series of violent events in recent weeks, leaving at least 18 people dead and many injured.  Office takeovers, pipeline destruction and other acts of sabotage have resulted in millions of dollars in damages.  The violence is part of a campaign organized by the oligarchy and dissident state governors who have intensified efforts to destabilize the country in response to the August 10th Referendum. In that Referendum over 67% of the population reaffirmed their support for the Morales government. In response to these events, President Evo Morales expelled U.S. Ambassador Philip Goldberg who is suspected by many in Bolivia of helping to organize leadership and provide funding to opposition groups intent on undermining the government.  As U.S. citizens, we would like to lend our voice, sending a clear message to the State Department calling for a change of policy towards Bolivia. Our voice is needed in this critical moment calling on the U.S. government to stop intervening in Bolivia’s internal affairs. We will send our message by publishing full page ads in two major Bolivian newspapers of an open letter to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. (READ the LETTER)You can help this effort by signing on to this ad, which will help to cover the cost of publishing it   We are collecting both individual and organizational signatures. We need to act quickly, so please Sign the Letter today.read more
