Cobra units have fired bullets, tear gas canisters and pepper spray into homes where children, pregnant women and elderly are at particular risk.
The nephew of Radio Globo owner, Alejandro Villatoro, was murdered this weekend. Thirty five year old Marco Antonio Caceres was shot by Honduran security forces in the Central Park of Tegucigalpa.
University student Wendy Avila, 24, died of an asthma attack as a result of exposure to toxic gases thrown by the police in the Brazilian Embassy.
The US accused the deposed President of Honduras Manuel Zelaya of aggravating the institutional crisis in his country by returning.
