Open Letter in Support of the Commission of Truth signed by 127 organizations

In March and April, the Commission of Truth is sending mobile teams throughout the county to collect new testimony and update over 2000 cases already documented by human rights organizations.  The Honduras Accompaniment Project is coordinating international accompaniment for the Commission mobile teams and offices in Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula.
This week, 127 organizations sent an "Open letter to the distinguished members of the international diplomatic corps and international organizations with a presence or focus on Honduras,” expressing support for the non-governmental Commission of Truth in Honduras, which was formed in June 2010, and requesting that they  insist on the protection of the staff of the Commission as well as all victims, families and witnesses intending to share their testimony with the Commission.
We are grateful to the Center for Constitutional Rights and Witness for Peace for helping to support volunteer accompaniers to augment our team during this investigative phase of the Commissions work.
Spanish version of the Open Letter can be found here.
