24 U.S. organizations send letter to State Department regarding crisis in Nueva Esperanza/PROAH kidnapping

On August 19th, a letter from 24 U.S. religious congregations and Non-governmental organizations regarding the human rights situation in Nueva Esperanza, Honduras including the kidnapping of PROAH team members, was sent to the U.S. State Department.

The letter, an initiative of the Latin America Working Group (LAWG), asks that the State Department urge the government of Honduras to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation in to the kidnapping of PROAH’s international human rights accompaniers and that the harassment and threats against members of the community of Nueva Esperanza cease. Please share this letter with your members of Congress.
