Friendship Office of the Americas

The Friendship Office of the Americas is a social justice organization that fosters solidarity between the peoples of Nicaragua, Honduras and the United States and pursues polices of peace and friendship.

Delegation of Churchwomen to Honduras, Dec. 5-11, 2015

The Friendship Office closes this year leading a pilgrimage of 12 women to Honduras in collaboration with the Sisters of Mercy Institute Justice Team.  Mercy Sisters and Institute Justice Team Director, Jean Stokan will travel first to El Salvador to commemorate the four church women murdered there in December, 1980.  This December, we carry the spirit of Maura, Ita, Dorothy and Jean with us to Honduras.

Just released story regarding Tolupanes who have joined the Honduran hunger strikers

Cultural Survival releases new story of Tolupanes of Locomapa whose lives are at risk and have now joined a hunger strike ‘in defense of all Honduras." This story was written by Jim Phillips, anthropologist and long term advocate for human rights and justice in Central America.
