Ten U.S. Labor Unions issued a letter backing Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) Dear Colleague letter circulating in the House of Representatives calling on the State Department to immediately suspend U.S. aid to Honduran police and military. (see letter attached)

Despite persistent reports of serious corruption and human rights abuses by the Honduran army and police, the Pentagon increased its contract spending in Honduras to $53.8 million in Fiscal Year 2011, up by 71% from the previous year.
