CPATH: Leaders Trail Public on Trade/Health

Voters, including Republicans, increasingly oppose the current crop of trade agreements and also support raising taxes to pay for health care, according to recent polls.

Two Haiti Events this Weekend

There are (at least) two Haiti events this weekend. In Washington D.C. on Sunday (Oct 28) is a concert, art exhibit and poetry reading called Reflexion. The event is at the University of the District of Columbia beginning at 6:00. COSTA RICA- ITS MORE THAN JUST THE NUMBERS

Just over half way through the stipulated time period before certification of the referendum on CAFTA will take place, a meticulous counting of every vote is happening in front of TV cameras, accompanied by a detailed accounting process. As of Monday mudslides had killed 23 people near Cabaret (19 miles north of Port au Prince) – by Tuesday morning some estimates were as high as 43 for the country as a whole.
