The Committee of Relatives of the Detained and Disappeared in Honduras (COFADEH), expresses its full condemnation and concern regarding the illegal detention, and degrading, inhuman and cruel treatment against José Guadalupe Garcia Ruelas, Director of Casa Alianza Honduras.
It has already been three weeks since the assassination of our colleague, Carlos Mejía Orellana, and none of the authorities responsible for the investigation have seen fit to make known the results of those investigations. One of the investigators even came to tell us that the results would go well because of pressure from the U.S. Embassy, perhaps this was to be the consolation of the magic wand, if the government of the United States is behind it the results will be effective.
