The 10th Honduras Accompaniment Project delegation arrived in Honduras today to provide international human rights observation-accompaniment at this time when national and international actors focus attention on Lobo’s first year in office, the continued forced exile of President Zelaya and the deepening human rights crisis.
Representatives from U.S. and Canadian networks and organizations including the Atlantic Regional Solidarity Network (ARSN) and the Maritimes-Guatemala Breaking the Silence Network from Canada, U.S. El Salvador Sister Cities, and a human rights attorney are members of the delegation. The delegation will be visiting communities recently impacted by police and military operations, meeting with members of the human rights community, other national organizations, observing events and issuing a report.
