The Bush administration will be putting forth Robert Zoellick as their nomination to be the next head of the World Bank – in the wake of Paul Wolfowitz’s resignation amidst a corruption scandal. (See NY Times article) Under an agreement that goes back to just a few years after the founding of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund the United States gets to pick the head of the Bank, and the Europeans get to pick the head of the Fund.
